Reactions
Reactions let you respond to a Task or a comment with a single emoji, so your team can acknowledge, agree, or celebrate without adding another comment.
Reacting with an emoji
You can react to any Task or to any comment on a Task. Anyone who can open the List can react – Owners, Members, and Guests alike, so even a Guest who cannot manage Tasks can make themselves heard. Pick an emoji from the reaction control, and it appears next to the Task or comment with a count of everyone who chose the same one.
- One reaction per person. Choosing a different emoji replaces your previous one, and choosing your current emoji again removes it.
- A quick-pick shows your most-used emoji so your common reactions are close at hand, with the full picker available when you want something else.
- Reactions stay quiet. They do not show up in the Task’s activity stream and never send notifications.
- A locked Task still accepts reactions. A reaction is a signal, not a change to the Task, so the lock does not stand in its way.
Where Reactions are available
Where Reactions can be used is set by your site’s administrator. By default they are available in Cowork Lists, where reacting to a teammate’s Task or comment is most useful. An administrator can also make them available in Private, in both, or turn them off. If you do not see the reaction control, it has not been enabled for that List.
