Installation & setup
This guide covers installing ListoWP Pro, activating your license, and placing the app on a page. It takes only a few minutes, and there is a short checklist at the end to help you finish setting things up.
Requirements
ListoWP needs:
- WordPress 6.5 or newer
- PHP 8.0 or newer
On older setups the plugin stays inactive and shows a clear notice explaining what to update. Ask your host if you are unsure which versions your site runs.
Install and activate
- In wp-admin, go to Plugins, then Add New, and upload the ListoWP Pro
.zipfile you received. - Click Activate. A new ListoWP menu appears in the wp-admin sidebar.
All settings live on a single page with five tabs – General, Appearance, Integrations, Advanced, and License. Each tab is also listed as a submenu under ListoWP, so you can jump straight to the one you need.
Enter your license key
Your license unlocks updates and support.
- Go to ListoWP in the wp-admin sidebar and open the License tab.
- Paste your license key and click Activate.
You can deactivate the key here later if you need to move ListoWP to another site. For more details, see "License" under Getting Started.
Add the app to a page
ListoWP runs inside a normal WordPress page. Create or edit the page where you want it, then add the app one of two ways:
- Block editor: add the ListoWP block.
- Shortcode: place the
[listowp]shortcode in a page, post, or any widget area that accepts shortcodes.
Publish the page and open it while logged in to see your Lists, Tasks, and Inbox.
Once ListoWP has a page like this (or an enabled integration tab), it also adds a View Tasks shortcut to the WordPress toolbar, under your site name. It appears on the site and in wp-admin, and takes you straight to the app.
First-run checklist
Once the app is on a page, a few settings under the ListoWP menu are worth a look:
- Sections (General tab) – choose whether your site offers Cowork, Private, or both, and which section people see on their first visit.
- Tasks (General tab) – decide whether Tasks can be moved between Lists, and where Attachments, Comments, and Reactions are available, including allowed file types and size for Attachments.
- Smart Lists (General tab) – choose where each Smart List is available – Cowork, Private, both, or neither – along with its color and icon.
- Appearance – set the default display mode, the default color scheme, and the accent colors for light and dark mode.
- Advanced – if you want to limit ListoWP to certain WordPress user roles, set that in the Limit Access box.
The rest of the admin documentation covers each tab in detail.
