Privacy & GDPR

The Privacy box on the Advanced tab controls whether people can take their own data out of ListoWP or remove it themselves. You will find it in wp-admin under ListoWP. It holds a single toggle, off by default.

Bulk export & delete (GDPR)

Turn on the "Bulk export & delete (GDPR)" toggle to give each user control over their own content. When it is enabled, a Privacy box appears in every user’s Preferences panel inside the app, with two buttons: "Export my data" and "Delete my data". Each person acts on their own data – you do not do this on their behalf.

What an export contains

"Export my data" downloads a single JSON file to the user’s device. It includes:

  • The Lists they created or own
  • Every Task they created, in any List and any status, Inbox included
  • For completeness, the Lists belonging to other people that those Tasks live in, and the Board columns of every exported List

Only a logged-in user can export, and only their own data.

What deleting removes

"Delete my data" asks for confirmation first, then permanently removes:

  • Every List the user owns
  • Every Task they created, including Tasks they added to other people’s shared Lists
  • Their membership of any shared Lists they were part of
  • Their ListoWP preferences and notifications

This cannot be undone. Note that a shared Cowork List is deleted along with its owner’s data, so if the user owns Lists that a team works in, those Lists disappear for every member. Lists owned by other people stay, minus the departing user’s Tasks.

When to enable it

Enabling this toggle helps you meet data-portability and erasure requests without handling each one manually. Leave it off if you would rather manage exports and deletions yourself.
